Had you seen any
of the other Wicked productions prior to accepting the
role?
No
Have you read
Maguire's novel, Wicked - The Life and Times of the
Wicked Witch of the West?
No - I will when I've finished
What is your favourite
scene?
My scene of course!
What is your favourite
song?
The Wizard and I
What is your favourite
costume?
There are so many stunning costumes - my favourite of
mine is my pink dress
Who is your favourite
character?
Elphaba
What, if any,
have been your biggest show/prop/costume mishaps?
Touch wood, I've been lucky!
What are your
characters top 3 priorities in life?
Boq, Boq and Boq
How did you jump
from a Law Graduate to a Musical Theatre performer?
It's a rather considerable difference in career!
It was always a huge hobby that ended up taking over
Having recently
completed a UK Tour with Disney's Beauty and the
Beast, which do you prefer and why? West End or
Touring?
West End as I get to hang my clothes up in my wardrobe!
Who is your favourite
Disney character?
Belle
What has been
your favourite show to work on, to date?
Wicked!
If you could be
in any show you wanted, which would it be and who would
you play?
The Narrator in Joseph
How do you think
being in the opening sequence has helped your on-stage
relationship with the other cast members?
We all get to laugh at each other's big hats
You have a lot
of off-stage time, what do you do to entertain yourself?
Read, gossip, have dinner...
What is it like
having to sit in the wheelchair all night?
I'm totally used to it now - I don't really think about
it
How does it feel
when the chair suddenly starts moving beneath you and
without your control?
Fun!
Elphaba blames
herself for Nessa's condition, but does Nessa blame
Elphaba for her condition?
She resents her incredibly so althought it's never mentioned
I'm sure she does
Why does Nessa
not stand up for her sister at the Oz Dust Ballroom,
and instead just wheel herself away?
I think because she's sick of being embarressed by her.
She loves her and feels protective over her but wants
to be accepted and not associated with her
What happens to
Nessa once Boq abandons her at the train station, and
then Elphaba and Glinda go off to the Emerald City?
Boq calms down and takes her home - he stays faithful
to his promise to Glinda!
Elphaba only finds
out that her father is dead when she visits Nessa. Had
she not done that, do you think Nessa would have made
any attempts to get a message to her sister about their
father?
No - she hates her and wants nothing to do with her
Is Nessa grateful
when Elphaba makes it possible for her, at last, to
walk, especially considering it means she actually loses
Boq in the process?
It is more about her happiness that for a second she
thinks Boq will be hers - that's all she cares about
How does Nessa
know that the real reason Elphaba is going back to the
Emerald City is for Fiyero and not to free the monkeys?
She knows the engagement party is in the Emerald City
and perhaps she's always suspected her feelings for
him - she knows her very well
Everyone in the
show is wicked at some point or another. Who do you
think is the wickedest and why?
Madame Morrible - she is deeply corrupt and drives the
weaker and less evil characters - such as the Wizard
and Glinda
If you had to be stranded
on a desert island with one of the characters from Wicked,
who would it be and why?
My mother who I never got to know
